The Sacrament of Matrimony (Marriage)
The Sacrament of Matrimony is a Sacrament of vocation (calling). The Church and tradition teach us that the union of man and woman in marriage can be compared to the union between Christ and his Church. The marriage is focused on the love between man and woman and the procreation of children, who are a gift from God.
Marriage requires maturity and preparation for taking up the duties of a commitment for life.
If the spouses want this Sacrament to be celebrated in our Church they must contact the priest as soon as possible and be prepared to undertake a period of preparation. They must also contact the Registrar’s Office in the area to establish the civil requirements of the marriage.
